Though the one thing I am against is, foreigners trying to change the US into their home country. It's the US, you want to try so hard to change your community into a little Cuba or little China, go back to where you came from!

And to appease the "tolerant liberals" for the sake of political correctness, I'm gonna have to say no to Harrods (it sounds oddly British)
Allowing the Cubans to just pack up and run to the USA did Castro a lot of good.

Now he's not even able to stand up on his own and the Cubans still run to the USA instead of trying to replace him. It's really better for a country if it's people stay and work for reforms. Our policies have allowed Castro to stay in power through many many USA presidential terms.

Cubans do not have it worse than Hatians. Politcal asylum my ass. Miami has recently been voted the 9th stupidest major city in the U.S. It is defintely time to END Wet foot/Dry foot. The days of Ricky Ricardo are long gone. This has become the tropical Jersey Shore. It might already be too late to save Miami, but at least stop the spread into north Florida and beyond.

Living in Florida I still hear about Cubans landing here so it is still going on. A couple years ago I was at a FAIR seminar where a Collier County Sheriff spoke. He informed the audience that whoever lands on U.S. soil is paid $10,000.00 which in the long run is paid to their smugglers. Hummmmm, think about that for awhile. They also are given a lot other freebies which in turn we taxpayers pay for. Yes, it is past time this is stopped

This isn't an illegal immigration issue but I totally agree with you. Also Miami now resembles little Cuba from our unrestricted wet foot/dry foot policies for Cubans. A good reason for diversity quotas rather than unabeted immigration from one ethnic group/nationality.

Preferred status for Cubans needs to end.

Big difference.
Wasn't that a line Tony Montana gave in Scarface? I know it's just a movie, but the writer put it in there for a reason.

Nah...there is not a big difference. Hell, there is NO difference. Wet foot/dry foot is a sham. If we deport one, we should deport the other. This isn't 1959.

This.

Plus...if we're going to deport people to Afghanistan and Haiti, why on Earth should we allow Cubans, who are relatively much better off than Afghans and Haitians, to stay? It's ridiculous.

I agree. Time to end wet foot/dry foot. Cubans haven't assimilated very well either, IMO.

Wet foot/dry foot as a policy doesn't matter to much numbers wise, at most we get 100 people a month floating over...Big deal. Mexicans are flooding over our land based border in the thousands a day.

The problem with the policy really comes down to racial bias. Much of the Cubans who float over are White or Mulatto, only a few black Cubanos float over [Fidel Castro treats black Cubans very well compared to his US backed predecessor]. If it was only Black Cubans coming over Im sure the policy would have been dropped by now...Haitians [who are the most African people in the West] have it worse than Cubans but are instantly forced back home.

Also, some of you exaggerate about Cubans. Cubans are a large portion of the population but its a shrinking one, and Cubans havn't been a majority in Miami for atleast a decade. Central Americans [ie- Mexicans and Hondurans] and S.Americans are the majority in Miami.
