I'm relocating to Southern Illinois because of a new job in Mt. Vernon. To be fair, I only took a cursory drive around Mt. Vernon, but what I saw has led me to believe I need to find housing elsewhere. I want to rent a clean, newer, apartment in an area within 30 miles of Mt. Vernon, but I don't see anything worthwhile until you go as far out as O'Fallon. Does anyone know of slightly more upscale commercial apartment buildings in a 30 mile radius of Mt. Vernon? I'd appreciate any suggestions!
