Dude, you need to post this question in the California forums. People in the Illinois forums generally don't want to discuss other states, and understandably so.

Personally I believe I would like to spend some time in Los Angeles. Some may think that cos it is a total city... that that's the reason I know I would definitely enjoy it there. It is just that people who resided there are a fusion of many culture. So rich in custom and people are much different (or was it just me)

This...

Unless the OP is specifically looking for Illinoisans favorite California city, which, to me, seems like an obscure question whose results would be subject to some major biases based on the personal preferences and experiences of the regular posters on this site.

I'll bite.

As an Illinoisian who visits California every couple years, I love the high desert country around Susanville and Wendel, CA. Very beautiful and remote.

I love Oceanside and Vista. I hate the traffic. it is like rush hour on the Outer Drive (with no exits) all the time.

Old Route 66 is a great drive between Ludlow and Needles.

I like visiting San Francisco and would love to travel to Napa Valley and up the coast to see some Redwoods.
