Default Questions re: moving urbana/champaign

Hi, I have a few questions with regards to a pending move.

Does IL have a local income tax? In PA, we pay an additional 1% to the municipality.

Is anyone familiar with Savannah Green subdivision? The houses seem reasonable for what you get. I realize lots are small.

Thanks!

Isn't local income tax sort of an Ohio/Pennsylvania/east coast thing? The stupid little towns of Hudson and Stow in Ohio, like most others in the Akron/Cleveland area, are in on that scam.

I haven't paid any local income taxes to Champaign this year. I don't know if Urbana has any such racket, but I'm about to find out, as I'm moving over there next month.

The State of Illinois has an income tax, the municipalities do not. They do have property taxes (though not personal property) and sales taxes.
