Default Nason Illinois, A Very Nice Town

Since I have sent so many threads to persons who could make a match in Nason, IL - - I thought I would create a thread about it. Nason, IL is a very beautiful but isolated town 11 miles SW of Mount Vernon, IL. Nason is about one mile north of the northern shore of Rend Lake. So Nason is not too far from Marion, Benton, Ina, Bonnie, or West Frankfort. Although Nason is somewhat isolated - - hunting, fishing, hiking and boating are excellent. So are the prices. A vacant lot is about $1K each lot - - and there are still consecutive lots for accrual. So one could build up a nice homestead using a number of consecutive lots. A good Internet source for searching the entire area is to visit "REALTOR.COM" Then punch in Nason's zip code of 62866. I own about one acre of vacation property down there. And so I am able to answer most any question about the area. This is all 'free' information and I don't charge for it. That is supposed to be humerous.

Best Regards,

Carter Glass

Good to know. Thanks. We eventually will be looking at getting out of chicagoland likely, once we hit retirement age. And southern illinois is in our sights as well as KY.

Default Hello Gardiner 34 & Others

If you have a camping rig, tent or other such means -- A good way to view the Rend Lake area is at the Wayne Fitzgerald State Park. The S.P. is on the eastern shore of Rend Lake.

Best Regards,

CARTER GLASS

GADGETGUY5000 is on a distinguished road
Hello Carter, We were bicycling in the Nason area today and saw a very beautiful piece of fenced priviate property on the west end of the town with brown buildings and a large smoke stack. Can you tell me what the history of this area and buildings is?Thanks, mark
