Steven, those are great pics! Looks just like home, though I'm on the western side of IL.

Great photos, hadn't checked Illinois in awhile, glad I did! Love the country shots (and the outhouse)!

Thanks, susancruzs! I'm glad that you're enjoying the images of IL from all of us who submit them. There are some really great photos here from quite a few talented photographers! I also love the country shots.
Keep coming back, we'll keep posting them!

Im so glad to see this thread going strong. Excellent pics everyone!
Here is one from fall...
Red means "stop". Yellow means "slow down". Green means "stop and stare in awe at sunset colors"?

A few from the last few days:
Beautiful Hwy 2 that runs along the scenic Rock River:
A hawk near Oregon, IL:
Gorgeous countryside:
Oregon, IL riverboat and Loredo Taft's indian statue on the bluff:
Just a random business in Oregon, IL... loved the background....
A horrible pic of some of the steep roads in the Rock River valley area. Id hate to traverse these during a big snowstorm!

Love the picture of the boat Steve... When ever I'm traveling down 39 I love it when I cross over the Illinois River, I think... Near Peru and Oglesby. I agree the Rock River farther north is beautiful as well. Views are limited of the Rock River though if your on 39...

Thanks Josh! I dont really travel on 39/51 now that I live back in the suburbs. I used to live out near Oregon, IL many years back and LOVED IT. I took 39 all the time back then, as well as Hwy 2. You should drive Hwy 2 from Rockford to Dixon sometime, its a nice road, especially when its right next to the Rock River.
