First of all, I would suggest to anyone who reads this far to ignore the rants and its content.

Illinois is an Ag state wherein every county is surrounded by crop or livestock on two or more sides of the county. The Quad Cities is no exception. Davenport is a dominant city in Iowa.

The common Illinois and Iowa border is in the middle of the Mississippi River. Moline, Rock Island and the Rock Island Arsenal are in Illinois.

As a whole the IL elementary schools K-8 are quite decents. All Illinois high schools have the same problem: teenagers. The vast majority of IL public high schools are on the State Watch List for failure to meet or exceed federal and state mandated requirements in Math and Science. The parent has 3 options: private school; home school; or get involved with the schools, the teacher, the principal, the school activities, the school board and the after school homework and activities.

Moline is a farming community about 40,000 strong that is no better nor any worse than any other farm community its size in America. Most farm communities have certain traits in common. [a] It's boring and [b] residents are as curious as they are suspicious. Work local, shop local, attend church and events locally, network locally, etc..

John Deere and CAT are both global manufacturing companies in Illinois that produce monster machines for big jobs. They are much different today than they were in the 1980s when profits were much smaller. Those days are gone. Today these companies are run smarter, and they are slowly downsizing locally as they expand globally.

In Illinois, Iowa, Wisconsin, Indiana and Missouri you pay state income tax and real estate tax. IL personal income tax is a flat 5%. The surrounding states use a sliding scale. Iowa tops out about 9% @$70,000 +/-. IL real estate taxes may or may not be higher depending upon whether or not personal property taxes on vehicles, boats and trailers are added as does Missouri. All IL real estate tax stays in the county where it is assessed to support local schools, hospitals, parks, and all county services.

It is less expensive to live in the county than inside city limits, but there is a trade off. You may be one block from a city fire department, but you'll wait for the county to respond. Your internet may not be as fast or as good, etc.. This is no different than any rural county in America.

Winter weather can be very cold. Layer clothing. . And because IL is nearly a peninsula flooding along the rivers is not uncommon. Right now the Illinois River is expected to crest ten feet or more above normal stage level for nearly two hundred miles. I expect the MIssissippi to be doing the same. It's not rare as we've had some wicked storms iand torrential rains n the last couple of weeks. By comparison is beats the droughts that kill thousands of acres of crops. Weather affect the Internet and satellite television adversely.

In all honesty, i feel i can say the quad cities are terrible, the schools here in having a mid life crisis and the economy is pretty darn bad, john deere is the only thing that keeps the QC afloat

Also as a current high schooler in the QC, the acedemics are mediocre at best, and the kids are out of control and not willing to learn

We already know the majority of IL high schools are on the state watch list for underperforming in math and science. We already know high schools are filled with teenagers. We already know K-8 is not a high school in Illinois.

Where do you go to school, LEROYJENKINS! ? What grade are you in?
