Default Curious about Carbondale
I was just wondering what people thought of carbondale?

I am considering taking my MA/PhD at South Illinois and I was wondering what the general idea of the area as I have never been there myself.

hmmm, I dont think much of Carbondale personally. But I guess it depends on what you do in life and what your expectations are. I lived there for some years and moved away for a short period of time and once again it seems like I have to move back there-but I dont have much of a choice. Explore other options if you can. There are several options are open as I am applying to as many schools as I can. However here is my question why do you not like it?

My reason for asking is I have several kids and I am kind of looking for something a bit quieter than say University of Chicago.
