Question Need short-term rent 1-bed apt in Champaign or any surrounding area. Help!

I have been searching and calling around like crazy looking for either a studio or a 1 bedroom apartment needed for 3 months or month to month rent in Champaign or any surrounding cities near Villa Grove, IL. I can't find anything! Do they even exist out there?

My husband is transferring from MI to Villa Grove, IL for work and needs somewhere temporary to live while in training. It's only from the end of October to the beginning of January. No one seems to want to offer anything less than a 12-month lease. Those extended stay hotels are ridiculous! They want like $3000/month for a tiny box.

Can anyone help me
Thanks so much!!!
Heather

The problem you have run into is students. The students have returned to the U of I, and that means they've gobbled up all the apartment units in the twin cities. You will have a very hard time finding something until students start dropping out and going home.

I'm not leaving and going back to Michigan (to get a job as Granholm's new zit) until I get my PhD.

Wishful thinking, buddy.

Nationally, less than half of undergrads complete their degrees. The rate among grad students is even lower.
