Here's a Youtube page for a Jennifer Ketchmark, a Champaign-Urbana weather reporter from Sullivan, Illinois. Her accent is not untypical for the part of Central Illinois just south of Champaign-Urbana.

I actually like the way she sounds, and I'm originally a Chicagoan.

I've always called it the median.

Also, Leevank mentioned the "aunt/ant" difference — I always cringed whenever I heard Will Smith refer to his "AWWWn-tie Viv" on the Fresh Prince. I always thought that was a NYC/Philly/Boston thing. It just sounds stupid to me. I like our way better.

In these here parts the median is the strip between a divided 4-lane highway.

My cousins from Boston used to make fun of me for saying 'aunt' the midwestern way, like 'ant' when I was growing up. Looking at the way the word is spelt, it probably should be pronounced 'awnt', but that is just how regionalisms roll.

A lot of Minnesotans say "awnt". Go figure.

I was born in southern Illinois, my dad's from southern Indiana and my mom Western Kentucky and there's definitely a pretty southern twang in my family's speech! For instance instead of wash my parents have always said "warsh," and instead of shower "shar"...

What part of Southern IL? Grew up in Union County.

Yes, there is definately a bit of twang there. My family talks the same way as Saluki mentioned. "warsh" and "shar". Never you all, it's always "ya'll".
