Default Moms...can you tell me about the quad city area

Hi,
Can any moms tell me about the quad city area? Are there any mom's groups? Are there a lot of places to go or activities to do with children? What are the schools like? Are the public schools okay? My husband and I may be moving to the area in May and my daughter will be a year by then. I want to make sure that where ever we move, it is kid friendly and there will be a lot of other great stay at home moms to be friends with.

Well it ain't called little Chicago for nothing. If you want a safe town for your child go out to Aledo, an hour out from the Quad Cities where the school is very safe, very small town. The schools are not safe at all in the Q.C., gangs. Gangs in general from Chicago have moved way out there and are taking over. Aledo is very safe though. To put it bluntly you from Texas don't know about our latest teen jealously killing of Adrienne Reynolds who moved from Texas to the Quad Cities. Who just wanted to have a friend, enough said. I live in Missouri now and moving to Wisconsin with a chance to move back home and you couldn't pay me enough. I go home to be with my family, friends and the running club and that is about it. I certainly don't go running at 4:30 in the morning there like I do here. I am sorry to upset you, but the crime is horrible there, just get the Post Dispatch or the Quad City magazine and look at the front page.
