Jimmy I always dream of California but California is as problematic as it is beautiful. Where else do you have in mind and why? I'd love to hear what your thoughts are maybe I'll join you lol At the end of the day I love Chicago though, I think if you have a lil money it's a great life here. It reallyyy sucks to be poor here however. I'd rather be poor somewhere else.

I moved to NM back in the day and loved it! I missed certain things about IL but had to move back(not by choice) It is what it is no point in complaining.

My wife and I tried Lexington Ky. and soon tired of the idiotic chatter of the hillrods and UK basketball fans and of the general servile manner exhibited in Kentucky. After three years we sold our house and moved back to Chicago. Living here is worth every ********** nickel.

Yeah, well the wages are considerably higher too. I knew quite a few tradesmen from Oklahoma who moved up here but not single one from here who moved down there.

And those taxes contribute to a state university better known for Nobel Prizes than for football championships. Though evidently Oklahomans prize the latter more than the former and are satisfied with the arrangement which doesn't speak well for the place.

I tend to think in terms of cities rather than states. State lines are fairly arbitrary, while cities are more of a natural organism. I love Chicago (by which I mean the actual city, not "Chicagoland"), but if and when I leave it I'll also be leaving Illinois, because all of the other cities I like are in other states.

Well I've lived in IL twice and your wrong about wages I know for a fact. Husband been transferred to many States with his job an IL had the highest property taxes we had ever paid and my place down here is worth a lot more than there. OU and OSU are great schools. Frankly when I think of IL, Chicago is not on the list. I lived in Galena and it was wonderful, the people are wonderful and I have many friends. We may move back for the friends and area but again you have no idea as to how much more you pay than other States. I lived in CA, Utah, Kentucky, Wis. and IL twice. The trademen you have talked to are not the norm I am sure. We do have paved roads unless your looking at some ancient picture.
