Hi all. If you like the railroad, and want a great place to watch trains, then Peck Park in Galesburg, ILLinois is for you. From I 74 exit#48 take E main street to Lincoln Street[ there will be a hardees on your right side], take a right hand turn, go north on that street until you get to North Street. Take a left go under the bridge, then take a quick right, go thru the gravel drive way/parking lot. You will see some trees and rail road tracks at the bottom of the small hill. There are 5 tracks that meet at the overpass at the northeast[ straight ahead of you when you pull in to the gravel drive/parking lot] of the park. There is potential of seeing 120 trains in any given 24 hour period there, on some days it may be higher. There is food, lodging, and gas very close by. If any one wants more info e mail me at
unionpacific856@hotmail.com . Today I saw 50 trains go thru there in 9 hours and 17 minutes. plus Galesburh has good eating, Lake Story, Sandburg Mall, and 2 good colleges. Enjoy, Mike.
