Our community is really angry and scared by the recent murder of a valued teacher and citizen of our community.Does anyone have any information regarding this case? Our local media seems to think less is more. So many people are saying that there have been other assaults and bodies found in remote locations that the police aren't telling us about for fear of creating mass panic. The rumors have more potential to create panic than does the truth. Please share any details that you may have.

I couldn't believe it when I heard that story. I couldn't imagine any motive for murdering a 1st grade teacher, which is what is really scary about the situation.

Default centralia murder

What a difference a day makes! The killer has now confessed and is in police custody. Turns out that he is a late 20's male from our very own town. No one is able to wrap their minds around a motive for this vicious slaying. There is no comfort in knowing who he is only peace in knowing he is unable to do it to anyone else. The rumors of other assaults and killings proved to be false. We must commend local and federal law enforcement for thieir swift and effective action in finding the killer. Now our small town is left to pick up the pieces of our hearts to try to make sense of the tragedy that has fallen on a kind and undeserving family. Our prayers, hugs, and tears go out to all who knew and loved Michele Cavaletto.
