Can anyone tell me what this area is like? I'm a teacher in central California, but I just found the house my grandfather built and my mom grew up in is up for sale. I have lots of wonderful childhood memories of this home and I think I would love to live there. I know I say that for sentimental reasons, but if the area is decent, I would seriously consider relocating to Peoria. Of course, I'd have to convince my husband (who grew up in Long Beach, CA) that it would be a good move because the lot is 3X the size of ours in CA, and the price is 1/3 the cost of our current home. Does anyone have an opinion about this area of Peoria?
The realtor's listing says it's "area 7, Maridale subdivision, zip code 61614." Not sure if that means anything to those of you who know the area. Thank you for any information you might be able to share with me. |

peoria is a good town... it's northern illinois and not southern so it shouldn't be too much of a culture shock. things will move a bit slower. the area you are talking about is in the newer part of town i think. beautiful city skyline. i miss my home.
