Does Peoria have hills around?
I have heard that Peoria has some steep hills in the area. I am from the west and always think of the Midwest as being flat as a pancake. Are there any great views of the city from the hills. Let me know, thanks.

Here are some pics... Its not that Peoria is hilly, its that the surrounding land... Table land if you will is much higher than in the Illinois River Valley creating the illusion once you are down there at the river level of being surrounded by hills. Take a look.
And Peoria has a really nice skyline surprisingly!
As you can see its actually rather pretty down there.

The Illinois River runs through town so there is a river valley and yes that creates hills as we understand them here in the Midwest. But nobody from out west would look upon these hills and sense any hint of similarity with what they're used to seeing back home.

As Drover stated, the IL river does flow through the area and has carved a small valley, nothing like youll find in Wyoming, etc, though. I like the area, it consists of rolling hills, some steep bluffs, dense woods and even prickly pear cacti.

well, yes there is. I was living in Dunlap once, and to ride around with bikes takes great passion going up and down.

I took a trip up to Peoria last night to get out of the flatlands of eastern Illinois.
I always enjoy Peoria.

Not only is Peoria not flat, it is a hidden gem of the midwest when it comes to hiking and biking trails. Check out Forest Park, Detweilier, Robinson Park, Farmdale, McNaughton, Dirksen, Singing Woods, Wokanda, Independence Park, Jubillee, Sand Ridge State Forest.
All within a 30 minute drive of Peoria. Farmdale in East Peoria is becoming a mountain biking mecca, drawing people from all over the state.

Very true. Can't say that I have heard of Sand Ridge State Forest though. I presume that it is south of Tazewell County?
