7) What do you like least about the state? Decent scenery is the exception rather than the rule. Mile after mile of cornfields doesn't do much for me.

2) Do you like it there? I put up with it. It has its moments.

4) If born out of state, how/why did you end up here. Do you like living here? Sometimes you gotta go where the jobs are. I was recruited here. I like it better here than in NYC.

5) Whats your favorite city/town in the state? Evanston. It's lovely and I worked there.

6) Whats your favorite region of the state? Northwest

7) What do you like least about the state? Industrial flight for elsewhere. The flatness of the great plains.

8) What do you like most about the state? The people and the vibrancy.

9) Whats your favorite state park/recreation area in the state? Big Bend out in Prophetstown.

10) Alternative space? That's a hard one. Near family for sure. Maybe NC or Albuquerque.

Well nothing compares to Chicago...that's number one but my favorite suburbs are Western Springs/La Grange and Lake Forest. Outside of Chicagoland, I like Chambana as a good college town and Peoria has some pretty areas

Chicago metro, although the Galena area is beautiful
7) What do you like least about the state?
My horrific 90 minute commute and the government that can't get its act together to salvage our public transportation system

It has everything. I've never felt the need to live anywhere else, even to go to school. (That's not to say I haven't been to other places - I've visited 21 other states and 17 countries.) Coincidentally, with the exception of a 3-month stint in Naperville, I've never lived outside of Cook County.
9) Whats your favorite state park/recreation area in the state?
I know we have some great state parks but the only one I've actually been to is Illinois State Beach, which has to be my least favorite with the asbestos warnings, the layer of black sand, and the scenic view of the old nuclear power plant...

Sure, it reminds me of Mont Clare back in the mid 60's.

Lakeview, a neighborhood in Chicago. I grew up in the Mont Clare/Elmwood Park area.

4) If born out of state, how/why did you end up here. Do you like living here?

5) Whats your favorite city/town in the state?
Paxton, closely followed by either Forrest or Fairbury. Gibson City is nice too.

6) Whats your favorite region of the state?
Central Illinois, of course! The rest of you are welcome to your preference for Galena. I don't need you clogging things up here weekends.

7) What do you like least about the state?
The rampant corruption at the State level.

8) What do you like most about the state?
The people, of course. Second would be a vintage radio show set in a thinly fictionalized Bloomington, 'Vic and Sade'.

Well, Starved Rock! That one is the best of them all.
