All schools in the southern end of the state are similar in quality. Most high schools have between 400-800 enrollment. They are generally mediocre to low in academic quality. A heavy emphasis on basketball and football. High School athletes are treated as local celebrities. If your child isn't an athlete, there's few other significant activities to participate in with these schools.

Most teachers have lived in the area their entire life, which limits their diversity of experiences and world view.

There's nothing really bad about the schools, just don't expect them to be similar to those in a more populous area.
