Why don't you just take a weekend trip and visit the town. I am sure the locals will be more than willing to give you information and their opinions.

I too am looking to move to Havana. I on the other hand would prefer to do CFD if possible. I'm tired of renting. Another possiblility would be a mobile home lot since I do own mine. I also have pets and two kids so a 3 bedroom is a definate must. If anyone can lead me in the right direction I would greatly appreciate it.

its been about 7 years or more since i been to havana but there used to be a trailer park behind the dary queen that they closed. im not 100 persent sure but i dont think the trailer park is there anymore. havana was kind of expanding a little when i left but i dont think that they have another trailer park yet ofcourse i dont no that for sure something i would check on. if anybody knows anybody that would do something like a rent to own in havana let me no at gcluney@netzero.com my wife vand i are on a fixed income so we half to do smething else right now i dont think we can aford to buy rightn now but if we get there that will be a start then we can look into something else. i like it because its close to the river and i like to fish i have fished that river many times. there is also places to fish across the illinois river in fulton county. if anybody can help please contact us thank you

Havana is growing
I live here on a fixed income. Hill Crest Trailor Park is very much alive and well. As far as I know the owner rents, and also sells on contract. Blessman still rents and may have a contract house for sale too. Bass Pro held a fishing tourney here a couple of weeks ago and the Red Neck Fishing thing will be in Bath in a couple of weeks.. The marina is open. One of the old mfg plants is re-tooling for a new line, and 14.000 acres are beomg reclaimed foor hunting and fishing. It won't be long before the Spoon River Drive, Marigold Festival and Pumpkin Festival will be advertisiing. Lewistown and Havana joined forces for some projects. La Crosse moved out to the new industral park area. Peoria and Havana have a joint agreement on all things rivier. The cigar festival and a brand new river race was held this weekednd. So was the Annual Bath Fish Fry. The hospital opened a new wing. and the city still sprays twice a week. Kracler's is having a hard time keeping prices down abd Harrrish's father took his oath of citizenship a couple of months ago.
Havana is still Havana.
Welcome home. Stop by for coffee some time.

Empty Lots
Just out of curiousity are there any empty lots available in the trailer court? Are pets ok? My hubby and I are planning on (hopefully) taking a trip to Havana on Sunday to scope the town out to see what we can find. Hopefully we'll have some luck. Could you possibly provide the numbers for the ones that sell on contract that you mentioned? I would rather do CFD than move my mobile home.

By the time you read my reply you will probably be on your way. The Havana phone
book should have the numbers. It's Blessman Insurance. Moving mobile is very expensive. It cost me 1k to move 10 miles 10 years ago. Lots of stuff for rent and sale around here. There will be someone in town who can tell you how to contact the owner.
Hillcrest is not hard to find. McDonald's is at the corner of Dearborn and Promenade. Dearborn is a state route 78. It does west and crosses the bridge. Promenade crosses beside the motel You want Promenda. Pass the motel and follow the road a couple of miles. It's on your left. I do not know the name of the owner or where he lives.

Gas and Electric is Ameren.. It will either be CIPS or CILCO depending upon where you live. Cass Cable TV/ Interent. Gentury Telephone/ Interent. Local TV via cable, antenna, Dish-TV or Direct-TV. Whatever you do, do NOT get satellite Internet until prices and connectivity improve considerably - probably in a few years. Wireless Interent s in the near future; towers are being constructed as I write this. Cellpnones: Verizon, Nextel and US Cellular work here the best because they either own towers or they share towers. T-Moblie and Sprint do not work well. You do need a dual-band cell.
