My husband's job is relocating us to the Rockfort Area... We have 3 children in college, middle school and elementary ages. We hear that Huntley, Belvidere and Roscoe are the better areas (?) We like suburban America but would prefer to have a bit of land. Great School system is our priority right now. We are coming from Mississippi, from DeSoto County where schools are #1 in the state, and have access to the city conveniences, restaurants and shopping in 20 min or less, good weather and sweet southern people! I know it will be a cultural adjustment but we are ready for this chapter in our lives! ... Being a High School teacher education becomes an important matter. We just want a god balance... Please help! We are thinking on renting an apartment for the first year in an area that we could purchase a home after. Thanks so much!

Since schools are your main priority I would focus your search on South Beloit, Rockton, and Roscoe.
