New Home builders near Scott Airforce Base (O'Fallon, Fairview Heights: transfer, construction)

Hi. My husband and I just moved to the Shiloh, O'Fallon, Mascoutah area. We're thinking about having a house built. We have heard that Fulford builders are good. We have also considered a local builder called Stimson Homes. We've been told to stay away from D&D and Vantage. Does anyone have any recommendations for good quality builders in this area or know anything about the ones I have mentioned? We're considering Shiloh, Swansea, O'Fallon, Mascoutah and Fairview Heights as well as any neighboring smaller towns. Thanks so much for any help you can offer!

I have no specific information on a particular builder for you. What you can count on is the builder's reputation. Just ask questions everywhere you go.

Hello,

We were transferred to the area last July and have visited nearly every new home builder in the area. Fulford and State construction do build good homes, but we selected and are currently having a home built by Stimson. The construction is solid and better than two previous homes we have built. It is also important to consider what "amenities" you would like in your new home. Stimson includes many features as standard that other builders consider options, so you will save money there. In addition, Mr. Stimson himself is on the site nearly every day, is very approachable and responsive to any concerns or questions you may have. Hope this helps. D.

JLP Homes is another good builder in the area. Lots of standard features that are "upgrades" other places. And the builder is very involved in the business as well. He will sit down with you and customize a plan to suit your needs.
