But this thread is about cigarette smoke, not auto pollution.

None of the anti-smoking Nazis like yourself will admit that vehicle exhaust causes more health problems to more of the population than second hand cigarette smoke ever did or ever will. If cigarettes were banned there still would be lung cancer and other respiratory problems as well as nervous system problems until the end of time because of airbourne toxins from cars and factories. |

It happens all the time. Maybe you should go work in a metal foundry. Should they be outlawed because of all the dangers there? Hmmm? I am waiting.

Well, there is OSHA, which has regs to provide protection. I'm not sure your facts are correct about auto emissions, either. You don't generally sit at a tailpipe and breathe it in for 40 hrs/wk.

If a woman or child lives near an expressway or near a major congested street in Chicago (or anywhere else really) children have a far larger rates of asthma and women have a far higher rate of Breast Cancer and Heart Disease. Those are just the top risk factors for children and women when living near vehicle and industrial pollution. This is just the tip of the iceberg. Cheers. Perhaps we should get back on topic - Cigarettes?
I'm not a smoker - yet, I fully support the right of private business to decide the type of clientele they want. I do not support government social engineering - and that is clearly what any smoking ban is about. Freedom! |

Have you ever heard of people dying from second-hand car toxin smoke? Don't think so...only second-hand smoke.
