Why are you in this forum anyway? You troll the boards to exude your non-smoking nazi beliefs do you not? Please leave this forum alone and post in forums that you have an actual connection to.

I felt like when smokers went outside for a 10 minute break, I should be able to take 10 minutes and go do something too...
Exactly where is this going on?

I want to work in some of these places that are giving smokers and extra hour a day of break time to smoke. The only time I have never heard of such a thing taking place is in laid-back IT jobs and upper management, never regular office work or the peons.

Methinks that most of this problem exists in the heads of whiny non-smokers.

I used to work for the City government in a professional, office position. Several of my co-workers would go outside once every hour or two to smoke a cigarette, which took 5 or 10 minutes. No one EVER said anything. It used to really p*ss me off...I had to keep working at my desk, while they screwed around smoking outside. I figured up the time they spent smoking once and it came out to almost 45 minutes each day. Do the math and you'll see that (based on what I saw firsthand) smokers are actually working 36-hour weeks while the rest of us are working 40-hour weeks. And we're getting paid the same! We non-smokers should get to come in at noon on Fridays to make up for the difference

Why would you choose to go to a restaurant where you have smoke being blown in your face? I certainly wouldn't. I think I would choose a non-smoking restaurant, or at least a non-smoking section of a restaurant.

Of, course if I smoked I might choose a smoking restaurant. Oh wait I'm not allowed to make that choice, the pro smoking ban people have already made that choice for me! they not only get to make a choice for themselves, but also make their choice the only one unavailable for anyone!

Who's being selfish here?!!!

It's not about rolled up paper with junk in it. It's about freedom.

The right to peacefully live as one pleases. To own property. To decide for oneself what can be put into ones own body(Do you own your body, or does the government?).

I guess humans can be pretty stupid afterall.

I think you've made a great point in favor of the smoking ban!

Actually, they made the case for freedom of choice.

If I own a resturant, I tell potential customers, in advance (through advertising and postings on the establishment) that "THIS IS A SMOKING ESTABLISHMENT" then let the customer decide if they want to patronize my establishment. I'm taking the risk - I could loose business.

Some people just don't get it, and never will. It's like trying to reason with a brick wall.

Maybe someday when the government bans something that you enjoy, maybe you will understand. I hope that day never happens. I want people like you to be free to enjoy whatever makes you happy, as much as I want smokers and business owners to have that right.

Of course as long as there are people like you that believe they have the right to force what they prefer on everyone else. That day is probably not far away.
