We had two mini-thaws right within short succession that thinned the ice just enough to make it too unstable to hold a fleet of cars.

hmmm. I guess *fleet* of cars is the key here. Still shocking!

Yeah, at any given time we've had up to 90 cars out on the ice. And not evenly dispersed either -- more like right next to each other like a parking lot.

Strange morning, weather wise. Very sunny this morning, then overcast skies developed quickly, followed by a mist that turned to very light snow. Now its starting to get sunny again. This whole system seemed to have come out of nowhere. Bizarre.

Just as we have been thawing out for the last week and the snow melting, here it comes 3-6 inches of snow tomorrow!

Heh, maybe he can come shovel the 4 to 8 inches of "global warming" off my sidewalks tomorrow.

This is a weird one... I'm not sure how much we're going to get. A guy I work with who swears by the NWS's models, says it shifting south... he bet me a buck we'll get 2 inches...
The thaw out was nice, but I figured we'd have at least one more of these bad boys... ![]() |
