Thank you. I did not have the patience to write that.

Because the lake is about 56 degrees? This is very simple and I don't understand why you don't get it. The larger the difference between the lake temperature and the influences on the ground temperature the bigger the lake effect. It's been warmer near the lake because it's been colder than the lake. It will now be warmer than the lake so it will be colder near the lake.
what you're saying is like claiming that it will always be colder in your refrigerator that you put outside than the outside air temperature.
If you'd read Sandwalk's post you'd see why a sudden increase in the ground temperature would make it cooler near the lake this weekend
Similarly, when it was 60 for a high on July 4th it was warmer near the lake than away from it. It's generally warmer near the lake in the winter and cooler near the lake in the summer, but atypical weather can reverse that.

Apparently you didn't have the time to read what Sandwalk wrote, either. Do you really think that it would be warmer near the lake if it was 90 in January? Why can't you understand the concept of an ice cube?
edit: but hey, we're about to see whether or not a cold body of water makes the air around it warmer like you say it will. Remember, this started with you claiming that the lake was still warm, which it is not.

Still pretty mild the last few days. Had frost on my car this morning though! So tonight I angled my car to fast East and the sunshine in the morning, let nature defrost my windshield.

Still pretty mild the last few days... nice sun, temps in the 60s. Seems to be clouding over right now though.
