If we have no more snow we're still the 2nd highest ever number of days with measurable snow in a winter, and we're 5th highest snow total ever. That's going to move up over next few weeks.
But, we're still way better than say the average winter in Buffalo so it's all good. Spring's a coming.

Got a link with that info? Ive been told we've broken snowfall records?

Well, it sure looks beautiful outside though. Sun is shining, skies are a brilliant blue again, and the snow on the treetops against the blue sky looks awesome. Wish I woulda brought my camera to work today, lots of great photo ops out there.

there was a thaw out this weekend? I wouldn't know....the only way for me to deal at this point is to point my car south after work on friday now and just drive until I see grass and can walk around without a parka. (that is somewhere around Kentucky/Tennesse if you are wondering, further north depending on what you consider acceptable at this point). Of course, I was greeted by snow on my way home Monday night so a thaw out is only a rumor to me. This is the winter to compare all future winter's to. I met up with my friend in Tennesse (who now lives in California) and let her know just what she has been missing, and that she won't be getting her award for weathering this winter.

I don't like having to do "the big thaw" more than once.

Its quite the shrinkage-inducing cold morning today, saw 15 degrees on the bank's thermometer on the way to work this morning. At least its sunny again though, I see some clouds out east though, maybe they can move this way and trap some heat in for us.

Decent out today, partly sunny, 30 degrees. Supposed to get 1-3" of snow tonight. Incredible. We should be done with the really cold weather though, rest of the forecast shows upper 30s, lower 40s, even some upper 40s. Could this be it? Could this be the sign of spring around the corner?

decent? It was 4 when I left my house this morning in Richmond, warmed up to a balmy 9 by the time I got to work in Barrington....its now a whopping 24. I just went out for lunch and cursed pretty much the whole way (on foot) and read a hilarious headline in a kane county news paper "winter is really bad this year, people have had it" or something to that effect. I thought I was reading the onion.

Upper 20s is pretty decent to me. When I left home it was 10 degrees according to my computer, by the time I got to St. Charles it was 18, now its probably 30-ish, which isnt horrible. One bank who's sign was sitting in the sun showed 41 degrees, the sun feels good today, as it did the last 2 days. When the sun goes down though thats a different story.

2-4" will feel like nothing compared to what we've been getting lately.
Like I told my wife the other night: as bad as this winter has been, all other winters will be a cake-walk compared to this one! Er, at least I hope.
