Amen to that! Just got back inside a few minutes ago and witnessed one of the hardest downpours Ive ever seen in my life. Was like a whiteout out there! Sheets of rain like you wouldnt believe out here in the western burbs. That Fox River has gotta be raging like rapids.

Ok, i wanna comment again about Midway.

I saw the weather, and even though rain, Midway was at the bottom with the least amount.

This is so typical of Midway with the least amount of precip.

For some reason Midway has a bubble or shield aroud it keeping it from getting hit with heavy snow or rain.

I think it has something to do with God and that tragic plane inncodent in 05 with the loss of life.

My parents were commenting about this just the other day when they brought up that Midway was shut down for some years back in the 70's and part of the 80's, which were at the time when snow fall was much for than this year.

As soon as Midway opend backup, guess what, the snow fell less in the southside region.

Yea we had a large snow fall this year, but for folks around Midway.

THis goes to show that Midway effects the snow and rainfall in the region.

Would a little box like that effect weather when Ohare has much more and gets dumped on much more?

Midway obiously has its own weather systems or its friends with the damn lake.

Can someone shed light on this?

I sure hope you are right Steve-o. I am so sick of this cold weather. Plus, I am moving to Arizona in a few months. For me, this may be my last really cold day FOREVER!
Just thought I'd add my excitement to the blog!

Where in AZ? While the Valley gets pretty cold at night in winter (30s and 40s), northern AZ is frigid at night and gets tons of snow. Sounds like youre gonna be moving to AZ in the summer months... Have fun!

I know July is not the best time to move to Arizona, but I start a new job as a teacher in late July. I will be teaching in Maricopa (the city, not the county) and living in Casa Grande. They are both far southern suburbs of Phoenix. I made sure it was an area that wouldn't have too many very cold days and snow. I am not a winter person for many reasons!

Ah, youll be fine in Casa Grande then. Its way out there (off of I-10) though. You might get some flurries here and there, but no bigtime accumulations like here. Tucson got dumped on pretty bad last year, which was odd. Anyways, there are some really nice parts of Casa Grande, and some downright scary ones. Have you visited there before you bought? In any case, good luck and I hope you enjoy the heat, youll be getting LOTS of it.

I haven't visited yet. I am going to rent for a while anyway. That is my plan for the first week in May. I am going down to check out the area and find an apartment. It sounds like you know the area. Do you have any suggestions of where to look or where to stay away from?
