The weather has sucked every day this summer, except 2 days, yesterday could have been nice if it clouded up some.

Only 2 good days this summer? Right.... What is exactly is your idea of nice weather? Maybe your a bit to picky? I think we've had an awesome summer so far with cool nights and decent day time temps. I take it your a winter person? Don't worry that will be here before you even know it.

I like 65-75 degrees or 80s with no humidity. This year seems to be more humid than the previous years that I remember. It has also been raining a lot for June and July. We usually get a lot of rain in April/May I think the seasons shifted a few months forward, in the Winter we didn't get much snow until February (it's been like this for 3 years now). I don't like snow, just cooler temperatures.

Uh... its been very dry, cooler than normal, and the grass here in the western burbs has been getting dry and crunchy due to lack of rain. We're way below our average for high temps, and minus several humid days, the humidities have been very low. Today and tomorrow are humid, the following 5 days are dry, sunny, low humidity. Now, what were you saying?

Oh, what a monster storm that rolled through here about an hour ago! WHOA! Tornado sirens went off, winds picked up, INTENSE lightning, and then it was gone, just like that. We're still under a thunderstorm warning until midnight.

How'd you guys do? Nothing much here in Warrenville. Got scary for a few minutes when the sirens came on, but I stayed by the door and watched the whole thing, wasnt that bad IMO.

How'd Cook fare?

I had a lot of thunder and lightning by me,which I am sure was what it was like in many places. I think some lightning hit really close to my building I could hear the thunder singe, buzz, and sizzle a couple of times really close to me when I was outside.

Other than the huge amount of rain and a couple of very strong bursts of wind it was not anywhere close to that storm last August.

It was still a thrill though.

The thunder and lightning is relentless again around me. If you are watching the Cubs game that is what I am seeing and hearing by my house.

Looks like out in the country took the most of the storm, with several downed trees, etc. Drove my son to Elburn to Grandma's house this morning and saw probably 3-4 dozen downed trees, as well as a flipped construction trailer!

Sunset after last nights storm (I caught it very late into the colors, hence the bad pic):

A nice and cool, drier morning today. Was 60 degrees when I woke up, supposed to reach 83 today, sunny, humidity about 20-25% lower than swampy yesterday. The next 4-5 days will be gradually getting cooler, with highs only in the 70s come Saturday and Sunday, low humidities, sunny.
