Position Summary
Little Sprouts Learning Center is looking for an energetic and nurturing candidate to fulfill a full time position as our daycare director. We are affiliated with Immanuel Lutheran Church, which is located in Lake Geneva, WI.
The director’s role is to:

• Maintain responsibility for the center’s management
• Oversee finances of the center and submit financial reports to the Church Council when requested
• Be responsible for coordinating and performing the recruiting, hiring, training, directing, evaluating, and terminating of staff
• Prepare and manage the center’s budget, parent accounts, enrollment, etc.
• Have the knowledge and ability to comply with applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations regarding employment practices
• Purchase, inventory, and maintain daycare supplies
• Collaborate with staff on instructional objectives
• Be accessible to assist in conflict resolution with staff as necessary
• Communicate with parents, staff, and council to ensure success for each child and our center
• Ensure the upkeep and safety of the facility
• Conduct monthly staff meetings

Required Skills/Responsibilities:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or Child Development. College level coursework in administration preferred.
• A minimum of one year of experience as a Preschool Director or two years of experience as a preschool or lead teacher.
• The ability to meet state and/or accreditation requirements for education and experience.
• Meet applicable director training and education requirements of the DCF 251-WI Licensing Rules for Group Child Care Centers.
• Knowledge and understanding of WI Licensing Rules DCF 251
• Knowledge and understanding of the Wisconsin Model Early Learning Standards
• Self-motivated with strong professional and organizational skills

Does anyone have any advice? Also, I would like to know the pay and benefits. In that job the pay can vary greatly. I seen low at $10.00 and hour to high of $50,000 a year.


Also, I currently live in Orland Park, IL and would relocate to Lake Geneva, WI. Any advice on any of the above would be greatly appreciated

How can anyone here possibly know the offered pay and/or bennies for a private company? Create a dialogue with them and find out once you have all your ducks (see requirements below) lined up.

Expect a slightly lower salary than what you might find in much of the Chicago area, since the cost of living is less on average in LG. Nice enough town, but you might look at living in a nearby area for slightly lower COL since the number of IL transplants/people with vacation homes in LG is high.

I wish I knew how much the job pays. For Daycare/preschool directors I seen low salary of $10.00 and hour to high of $50,000 a year. I heard Lake Geneva is $$$$.

LG area is not as expensive as Chicago. You can find 2BR condos for rent in surrounding towns nearby for $800.

You keep repeating the same info about not knowing salary. Formulate an action plan(!) If they like your resume you will find out in a hurry

I was told LG is expensive. It is no different then where I live now. On the lake cost more but as you said towns not that bad.

I had interviews go well in the past and not get job. They still did not know the salary. I meet IL DCFS Director and Teacher qualifications, not sure about WI DCF.



In the mean time I had a phone call about another career opportunity.
