State of the State Speech
Anyone catch this? If you didn't, I'll recap.
Rodblag walks into to raucous applause, I would guess at least 3 or 4 congressmen clapped.
Rodblag gives a few minutes simple platitudes.
Rodblag blames everyone except himself for the state's problems.
Rodblag takes a swipe at Madigan.
Rodblag talks about spending and more spending (child tax credit and capital projects).
Rodblag gets more raucous applause, at least 5 or 6 congressmen clapping at this point.
Rodblag leaves the chambers, is probably back north of I-80 by now (speech was two hours ago).
This is the state of the state.

you forgot the part where he said that "well, last year i agreed that expanding gaming was a viable idea for capital projects but now i think it's kind of a crappy idea." sure, it was a FINE idea when he wanted to try to save transit with casinos, but he wants an actual viable option, rather than preying on poor people/gambling addicts, when it comes to fixing the roads (btw, Blago, i have a bridge carrying train tracks right outside of my window that's literally falling apart, but since it doesn't carry automobiles, i guess you don't care.)
oh and the part where he wants to give tax credits to those who have gotten knocked up*, but refuses to raise taxes to pay for all of this mess that he wants to get done.
*an aside, why can't I get a tax credit because i know how to manage my money wisely and am not stupid enough to get hitched and/or knocked up?
yeah, do you get the idea that i wanted to rip my ears off of my head when i was listening to his crap? i swear i kept envisioning Madigan (or Hamos - anyone really) just up and walking up to him and punching him in the nose.

Well, I'll admit I didn't watch every second. Was flipping between that and the Macrame Channel.
Your comments are duly noted.
