Thanks for the responses.
You may want to first inquire about issues with meth down there.

Post in the STL forum. That county is part of the East Metro.

Where, in Illinois?? I find that hard to believe if it's Illinois unless you got a lawyer to fight them. We had a home in Plainfield (near Naperville) in Will county and we paid $10,500 this year for a $375k assessed home! Our taxes had been well over $9k the whole 10 years we lived there. We just moved to NW Indiana and our property taxes on a $300k home will be $2900 a year! As someone else said, Indiana has a property tax cap of 1% on assessed value. Good riddance Illinois!

Is your last name Daley? LOL. jk

It's kinda=sorta=a joke, I remember when all the politically connected people got their sidewalks fixed for $40 while everyone else was charges 100x that.

One of the major problems with Chicago.

P.S. I used to work at a firm that had a connected son, dude brought in all kinds of business contracts...anyone denying this crap never lived in Chicago.

That's only because it's a condo! You don't own land with a condo. If you had a SFH at $600k your taxes would not be that low! Can't compare property taxes on a condo with a single family home.
