Blago does it again (Chicago, Madison: work, campus, cost)

Just when you thought you couldn't hate the guy any more, he announces the state is going to tear down Cole Hall at NIU and replace it with a new building.

1. Nobody tore down Virginia Tech, Columbine, the mall in Omaha, etc., etc., etc. etc., etc.

2. Cole Hall is perfectly functional

3. We don't have the money.

4. And of course, what makes it truly galling is that this is yet another shameless self promotion, at the expense of the NIU victims, whose only intention is to take our attention away from the fact that he is now, officially, Public Official A, and the federal prosecutors are swarming ever closer.

I thought I mis-read that online - why is the governor making this decision, and especially so soon? Let NIU decide how it wants to memorialize (or not) their campus in honor of their dead.

I also heard the president of NIU signed off on this and also the State Rep. What a waste of money. I mean no disrespect to the victims at all and their families at all , but this is ridiculous.

Has our culture come to a point where we just have zero coping skills left? Do we really need to tear down a perfectly functional academic building just to erase bad memories and memorialize the victims of a tragedy? This is coddling taken to asinine lengths.

And what a piece of disgusting, naked opportunism by our piece of crap governor. The bodies are barely in the ground for Chrissake. Can't you wait just a little longer to exploit their deaths to buy favors? I know it's almost become fashionable to complain about Blago, but he makes it damn hard not to. I've never seen anyone so skilled at doing something even stupider this week than last for their entire term in office.

Why did this moron not call for the destruction of 500 W.Madison after the 3 murders there a little over a year ago? Way to be consistent Blago. Please explain Blago why this recent tragedy is any different than the one at 500 W. Madison.

I hope Blago lands a nice prison cell with Big Bubba very soon.
