Grew up in DuPage, moved to Kane, back to DuPage, then to Ogle County, then to DeKalb County, now back in DuPage. What is interesting about DuPage? Besides the history, I love the towns and how comfortable I feel here. I love almost everything about it, besides some crappy roads, outrageous property taxes, and traffic.

Live in Kane. Previously resided in DuPage for the 1st 23 years of my life. And then to Cook for 7. Then to Kane.
Of course, Kane county is home to some pretty nice towns along the fox river valley here. And many have nice downtowns. The Fox river is pretty much the place to be in Kane county in regards to recreation, boating, fishing, etc. Also Kane county forest preserve district is to be commended, they are doing a great job.
They also have the only farmland preservation iniative in the state.
Now if they can straighten out their archaic inappropriate farm zoning in the unincorporated subdivisions they will be doing better. (had to complain about something in the county, everyone else complains about theirs).

Have lived in Will, Cook, and now live in Ogle County.
Ogle County has some crappy roads.. some scenic views, Castle Rock State Park, some bluffs along the Rock River, and a few neat towns, Oregon and Byron.. Rochelle is quite the dump.

I grew up in Cook and DuPage. Currently in Boone County and I love it! There is no traffic, no hustle and bustle, just open space and easy living. Each time my wife and I visit family members in the city and burbs, it reminds us more as to the good choice we made.
Easy access to I-90 and only 30 minutes from Randall road, everything is far enough not to be bothered but close enough for convenience. With strong talks of the Big Timber Metra line extending through this area, our property values will increase 10 fold over the already maxed out suburbs.
If you have an afternoon to kill, take a drive down 20 or 173 and see for yourself.

In spots. There are some beautiful areas, particularly along Flagg Road. Lots of new development over there, by the new high school.

I lived in Champaign County. CC was one of the counties on Lincoln's circuit when he was a circuit court judge. There is a plaque on the CC courthouse in Urbana commemorating this piece of history.

I was born in Kankakee County, moved away a few times and am back again, probably for life. One must not confuse the County of Kankakee with the City of Kankakee. The County takes on a bad rap for the City. The most interesting thing about Kankakee County is it's "Politics as Usual" attitudes of it's residents. You are either a Democrat or a Republican and follow along that party line. If you have a mind or conscience of your own, you are shunned in this County. Nothing ever changes. Several bad politicians have come from this County, George Ryan being the latest and most residents still see these 'bad politicians' as heroes ! Sad. Change is unforeseeable.
