Youll get allllllll the warm weather you can shake a stick at in summer. Er, make that "hellishly hot" weather. Expect snowfalls in winter, too, theyre seemingly becoming more and more common down there.

I grew up in McLean County. There's not much around there but corn and beans. Bloomington's claim to fame is being home of State Farm Insurance.
I've lived in Morgan County for the last 10 years. Great place to live. Jacksonville, the county seat, is home town to the Illinois School for the blind and Illinois School for the Deaf. ( I should say visually impaired and hearing impaired) We're also the home of the first college in Illinois and the birthplace of Ken Norton, Jr.
We were also a stopping off point for the underground railroad.
Lots of corn around here too.

Grew up in Sangamon county. The big city in the area is Springfield. Lots of history. Lots of gov't and white collar jobs. There are a fair number of things to do in the area and tons of places to eat, but we tended to always go to St. Louis or Chicago for more interesting things such as concerts, shows, shopping etc. Following trails along the Sangamon river was fun, and it made the terrain a little more diverse than the surrounding cornfields.

Oh yeah, and there's a lot of stuff pertaining to this guy named Abe. I don't know what that's all about...

I'm born/raised in Cook County. Its pretty much the best county in Illinois of 5.3 million people. Everything you can find is in Cook C and plus the big city of Chicago is here. We have public transpotation( Metra, El, CTA etc.). We have the huge lake towards the east with boat riding and people around the beaches in the summer. Cook County is home of the currently tallest building in the US; the Sears Tower. And also home to some of the craziest sports fans you will ever find in this country.lol

Live in Kane county but have lived in Dekalb county also.......

I love Kane for the scenic and historic downtowns such as St. Charles, Batavia and Geneva....... and then I'm only a few minutes from sprawling farmland which I love to drive around out in.......

I love the Kane County Fairgrounds and the Flea Market they have once a month.

I'm so glad I'm not in a really crowded city like Schaumburg, but id I want to GET to crowded urban parts it's not a far drive. And same goes for the farmland. I'm glad I'm not surrounded by corn but that it's not a far drive either

I escaped from Macon County back in May 2008. If it wasn't for my in-laws and best friend living in Decatur, you'd never catch me there again. After growing up there, nothing surprises me anymore.

Born in and currently live in Cook. Have also lived in:

DuPage, where the most interesting thing about it is, well, it's the wealthiest per-capita county in the state, other than that... just a big sea of suburbia

Kane, with some nice rolling farmland that is quickly disappearing (anyone remember when Randall Road is where the suburbs ended?)

Coles, the most exciting part of which is being within striking distance of Chambana for when you need a small dose of civilization to tide you over before the boredom of Coles County drives you mad. Oh yeah, and Mattoon and Charleston and EIU -- three fairly forgettable features even if the lattermost is my alma mater.
