I am confused. Is this real estate agent the one you used in Chicago or someone else who answered the phone when you made contact about the Centex development?
Centex and all major builders list some of their new construction with Realtors for addictional marketing. Most builders also have their own force of dedicated in house real estate agents.
Any real estate agent that registers with a client will be paid a commission, by the builder if and when the client buys a home.
The agent who accompanied you will be paid by Centex.
Major builders do not incrementally discount their new builds or inventory homes if a client walks in
without a real estate agent. If they did, real estate agents would not advertise their properties and/or drive buiness to them.
