Not bad for opportunity and infrastructure. It'll be a welcome day when Illinois finally has a budget. The state's economy SHOULD begin expanding even more so. Guaranteed Rate hiring 300+. Hickory Farms moving HQ, albeit only 15 people to start. Let the momentum continue!

Imagine how good it would be if the legislature and governor actually did their job.

The governor is doing his job. Stopping the Dems from F'ing things up worse. That is all he can do. Unlike nationally where the idiot dems can just be steamrolled over.

Wonder what it's like if you remove Chicago from the mix. I'm not from Illinois (thinking of moving in) but I understand there is a big contrast between Chicago and the rest of the state.

It's a catch-22. Downstate IL needs the economic engine of Chicago to exist, but hates it anyway. It's one hot mess ;(

Right. They don't want "their taxes" paying for "our infrastructure/problems". The reality of the situation is more money flows INTO the rural parts of Illinois from Chicago than vice versa.

It's very analogous to the red state/blue state tax/benefit comparisons.

I don't blame them for being pissed though, Chicago is pretty messed up
