Again, you keep censoring my posts LOL If you actually met the guy, you would agree.

You go your way, I will go mine. How can someone who seems to holds a place like Evanston (see our other thread) in high regard but fail to see how the 'have nots' might need public assistance with reproductive care, including abortion? A 16 year old girl should not be forced to have a baby because their conservative religious parents w/o education say she has to.

Forgive me for standing up for politeness and civil discussion. Clearly we have enough of that.

I actually know Congressman Dold and his extended family personally. I've contributed to each of his campaigns since 2012. Rose actually has a longstanding city-wide contract with the City of Evanston. They must not be too terrible.

This is really not about my personal views on public financing of or the legality of abortion in this country. I was simply making the point, correctly, that there are many different views on abortion and reproductive rights that do not fit the "pro-life" and "pro-choice" constructs as defined by the NRLC and NARAL, respectively. Most Americans do not hold rigid "pro-life" or "pro-choice" views. Dold supported legislation requiring parental notification in the event of an abortion, not parental consent. I think most parents would like to know if their child had received or planned to obtain an abortion.

You ought to know better than to suggest that conservatives and religious people are without education. Many of the most well-educated people I know are conservatives and/or religious.

Governor Rauner signed this legislation. I am not sure that most people actually care. I think that many of these wedge issues are more important to people in the lower echelons of society. I do not think that the affluent suburbanites who form Rauner's core base of supporters are concerned. I know that I couldn't care less about what a candidate's position on abortion is.

He finally has a primary challenger. http://chicago.cbslocal.com/2017/12/...s-governor/The National review branded him "The Worst Republican Governor." His campaign message, roughly translated, is "Madigan is the Devil; reelect me and I will stop him." funny, he's already had three years to do that.
