Default Fun Illinois question 3/19/08

Thanks to all those who participated yesterday.

Today's question: What is your favorite restaurant in IL. You may only choose ONE, which I know will be hard for some. Please post your FAVORITE restaurant (keep them local if possible) and I will allow some "runner-ups" as well. Have fun!

My fave? Gotta go with Lou Malnati's here.

Runner ups: Pal Joeys, El Taco Grande, Gino's, Rosebuds, Augustinos, Pete's, Scoobys Red Hots, Miguels, Portillos.

Ive been past that place a million times and have never tried it. Is it as formal (dress and cuisine) as it looks?

I'm going to have to go with Bayern Stube in Gibson City. It's a great place in its own right with awesome German food (yeah I know, most consider that a contradiction in terms) and a neat atmosphere... but to see a place like this thrive in the middle of a farming town is just really really cool.

Geja's is a 3, 4 course fondu restaraunt set in a small basement, candle lit atsmosphere, usually quiet, one man guitar playing entertainment, abundant wine selection. Makes for a very romantic evening.

Never knew that it was there ! Any chance of carry-outs? We usually get McDonalds or Pizza Hut before the movie at Gibson's Drive-In theater. Good German food and a movie would make for quite an evening in the middle of farm country.

Nope, it's definitely a dine-in restaurant, and not a particularly cheap one at that.

Woah! I just attracted everyone's attention once that music started playing. I have Harman/Kardon surround sound on my computer.

Looks like a nice place though! Very authentic.
