List your favorite seasonal pasttimes. Make sure they pertain to Illinois of course.
![]() Winter: taking my son sledding at Campton Hills Forest Preserve or Blackwell Forest Preserve. Spring: Fishing along the Fox River for the first time of the year. I look forward to the day each year. Nothing better than casting the first line of the year! Summer: Either sitting poolside with a cold Sam Adams or attending the downtown Wheaton car shows on Friday nights. Fall: going to Sonny Acres Pumpkin Farm on a crisp fall night, riding the Haunted Hayride and sippin warm apple cider. What about you guys? |

Winter: Just walking around State Street and Michigan Avenue when they are all lit up and decorated to the hilt during Christmastime.
Spring: That first day when the weather finally turns nice and everyone seems to pile out their homes and offices just to be outside (for me, it's being able to turn on the grill again) - it's like a collective release. Summer: Going to baseball games on both sides of Chicago and CSO concerts at Ravinia (opposite ends of the cultural spectrum, but there aren't too many better ways to take advantage of the summer). Fall: Taking a hike through Morton Arboretum when the leaves turn and a trip or two down to Champaign to watch Illini football and re-visit my old college haunts. The Bears can make this time of year either fantastic or excrutiating (it was the latter last season). |

Spending the weekend at Starved Rock State Lodge when the Bald Eagles return each year.
Lunch with Santa each Christmastime in Monticello: Taking the kids to the Christmas parade and then Train ride with Santa. My wife and I take 1 week-end a year and spend it at a different Bed and Breakfast. The best. |
