Living in Peoria, which apt's to check out?
I'll be working on [font="]W. Nebraska Avenue, Peoria, IL 61604 starting in June and will need place to live (by myself). So far here is what I've come up with:
Seven oaks: 4010 N Brandywine Dr, Peoria, IL 61614
Fieldmoor Apartments: 1601 W Gift Ave Peoria, IL 61604
(Condo) 3623 N Sterling Avenue Peoria, IL [font="]61604
All of these are about the same price, $600-700 per month. Anyone have experience with these? Recommendations? I'll be visiting Peoria in a few weeks and setting up my housing so I'd like to go there with as much info as possible, Thanks!

I would choose Brandywine. I wouldn't live near Sterling or Gift. Just my opinion.

Eh, there is a waiting list for most Peoria apts. What do you guys think of N Sterling Avenue Peoria Condo for $650 per month (6 mo contract) - I pay for internet and electric. Is Sterling a decent area? ghetto? Thanks

Again, I wouldn't choose Sterling. I used to live in Timberlane apartments. I really liked that location.

You wouldn't choose Sterling because of the proximity to things such as malls and parks, or is Sterling in a not so great part of Peoria? I hear the south is referred to as "Little Chicago" or ghetto, but Sterling is just a few minutes away from where I'll be working...

I would just visit the areas and make a decision from there. Sterling is close to everything. If it was just me and not my family I might live there.

Have you though about any of the apartments north of Rt. 6 in Dunlap? There aren't as many as in the city, but they would most likely be newer.

Son moving to peoria
Hello...my son may be moving very soon to Peoria.
What areas should one avoid?
What areas are much more desirable - especially in terms of
safety?
Thanks.

If your son is going to Bradley he should look for campus approved housing. The area around Bradley has always been pretty randy at night
Anywhere NORTH of War Memorial Drive between Prospect Road and route US 150. This includes Village of Peoria Heights, Northmoor Road, Allen Road, University Street. Sheridan Road, Knoxville Avenue, Rolling Acres subdivision, Lake Street, Glen Avenue and Willow Knolls Road. These areas will be at least ten miles from campus. There is a choice of housing from apartments, condo, duplex and homes.
He will NOT find a cheap apartment in a totally safe neighborhood.
