I'm considering as move to the Rockford area with my wife and two school-aged children. I really like everything I've read about Rockton, except for the current flooding. Is there a part of town that is not in the flood zone? Also, can anyone provide a good reason not to live in Rockton.
Thanks |

Rockton does not have a flood problem at all. I cant think of any areas in Rockton that flood maybe some farmland and thats about it. It does have a dam there and they take reading from there. But as far as I know no flooding problems there. Someone correct me if I am wrong on this. Rockton is a great place to live also.

Thanks Havasu. Do you/did you live in the area? How long is a typical winter commute into Rockford?

I would rather commute to Beloit or Janesville then to Rockford. I would go to Wisconsin to buy things the sales tax was lower and roads are in better condition. Just a tip for you. |
