WeHeartKittens is on a distinguished road
Default Moline, Illinois and pets!

Hi,

I have 6 cats... long story... Interesting story... well okay, 5 of them are kittens who we found on the side of the road nursing their dead mother. Being a Vet Tech, I could not let them starve. Well, when they were old enough the local Humane Society would not accept them because they were full of kittens. so... we now have 6 cats...

Both me and my fiancee have been accepted to Western Illinois University (She: Masters of Biology, me: PBC in Zoo and Aquarium Sciences). The QC campus is where most of our classes will be taught. We are desperately searching for a place to rent... but it seems most places in Moline have a max pet of 2. Does anyone know of a rental (any type:studio, 1bed, house, condo) that does not have a max pet policy of 2?

We prefer Moline because that is the location of the campus, in addition we will have to commute to Macomb maybe once a week for classes there. But, if you know of a class town with available renting, please suggest it.

Thanks!

I don`t have an answer to your question, but I wanted to comment on the story about those kittens nursing off of their dead mother on the side of the road. How sad!

I would think your best bet would be a rental house, but that's just my guess. I would also suggest not mentioning that its 6 cats unless asked. Something along the lines of "I have cats," seems like a good honest answer. I'd also offer a pet deposit up front if the landlord doesn't already require one, or is unsure of whether to allow all the cats.
Welcome to the QC.

You need tags for the cats too: Rock Island County - Animal Care & Control Center

Not sure if there are going to be limits on how many pets are registered at one address, but it would be real smart to ask (anonymously) ahead of time instead of having an upset neighbor raise a fuss after the fact and possible forcing you into a very bad decision...

Moline (Land Lords aside) is really strict on the pet thing, I was born and raised in E. Moline/ Silvis, and both are more laxed on that issue than Moline, plus the rent is a bit cheaper... (smaller towns........)
