Thank you! I was also able to find husky rescues as well, if anyone's interested -

Ok, here's another question for you - I'm sure insurance coverage is completely different in Illinois than in CA. We will shortly be without health insurance & would really like to know what our options are to help cover our family until my husband gets a job & benefits. And help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!!!

Default about chillicothe...

Just some answers to questions not answered that I picked up from viewing your past posts:
• BN = Bloomington-Normal
• Lacon, IL No-Kill Animal Shelter is called the ARK http://www.petfinder.com/shelters/IL16.html
• The State of Illinois has insurance coverage available to all children. Visit: http://www.allkidscovered.com/
• St. Edward Pre-School is another great preschool in Chillicothe.
• And probably one of the greatest offerings in Chillicothe is Pearce Community Center. The old Pearce Grade School was converted into a working community center in the late 1980s by community volunteers. It has two full-size gyms, an indoor swimming pool, full banquet facility, and rooms full of state-of-art workout machines. Plus lots more. And it has tons of programs geared towards children.

Hope this helps. And I hope that you will enjoy Chillicothe as your hometown as much as me and my family have for the past 40 plus years.

regards,
-Jeff

Default chillicothe

I was born and raised in chillicothe il and my mother and her side of the family were born and raised there. I love the town! I am 29 years old. The school systems are great I attend CEC and then IVC. My husband used to teach grade school here. currently my son is 3 years old and is attending preschool next year. There are quite a few preschools. First united methodist church in chilli and mossville have preschools. St Edwards has a preschool. The high school has a preschool and Mossville grade school has bright futures.
As for retaurants we have Mcdonalds, hardees, subway, taco bell , dairy queen, 2 chinese restaurants, mexican restaurant, greek restaurant, pizza hut, monicals pizza, bailey's pub and river city cafe. A great sandwich cafe for lunch is Happy Thoughts. There are few more ma and pa restaurants and sandwich shops that are great.
Locally we have a movie theater, new waterpark, grocery store, CVS pharmacy, ALco (small walmart), Dollar General, Family dollar, alot of banks, 5 gas stations, super 8 hotel, cornerstore video shop, bowling alley, etc
The best part is we only live approx 15 minutes out of peoria. We have the small town feel with big city stuff real close. The schools have alot to offer and I don't know about you... but my child's schooling is very important to me! If you have any questions definatly ask!!
I moved away for a few years and lived in Kansas City, Chicago and Rochester minnesota. We found our way back here and we are very happy. My husband is from Iowa and this is where he wants our kids raised, he feels so welcome. When we first moved here he and I were out doing yard work and someone that drove by waved at us. My husband was like "do you know that person?" I said no and he was just amazed that the people here are so friendly. Now that is how he judges communities on their friendliness.
Good Luck to you

For preschools and daycares call the local Department of Family Services or
Child Resource and referral.
They both have list of who is licensed to have both of these. Some home daycares offer preschool or even preschool i a home setting.
