Default need advice on sublease for internship at Hazel Crest

Hi, I am starting my internship in Hazel Crest on May 12th, but I havent been able to find any sublease close by. Apartments around that area that I can find all require at least a 6-mo lease, if not a year. I have looked into craiglist for apartments in Chicago downtown, South, West, even North suburbs (yes i am getting desperate) and still cant find anything that works with my timeline (may 9 to aug 15-ish), budget (preferably < 1000), and living conditions (relatively decent, studio or 1 BR, or 1 roommate with private bath is fine).

Anyone has any recommendations of where to live? Is the commute from downtown to Hazel Crest gonna take away valuable sleep time? Google map shows it takes about 45 min, but considering Chicago traffic, etc I would like to know if 45 min is gonna turn into forever. It's going against peak hours traffic for the most part, but still, not sure how it is going to be like.

Thanks in advanced!
