Talking Princeton IL- info please

Hey everyone! We are getting ready to move to Princeton IL in Feburary and we are looking for as much info as possible. I haven't been able to find a good website and we need info about the schools, any fun things for kids to do, the people (are they nice?), etc. Any info would be great. Thanks so much!

I've never been to Princeton, but I'd love to visit that town at some point. It seems like an interesting town, based on what I've seen and read about it. It also has an Amtrak station along a line that runs between Chicago, Galesburg, Denver, and the San Francisco area. Hopefully someone can fill you in on more info about there.

Question Princeton Is..........

HI, I JUST WANTED TO LET U KNOW THAT PRINCETON IS AN O.K. PLACE TO LIVE. NOT TO MANY THINGS TO DO. BUT YOU AND YOUR KIDS COULD GET A MEMBERSHIP AT THE "METRO" (SORTA LIKE A Y.M.C.A.) AND VERY CHEAP!
THEY OFFER EVERYTHING, LIKE SWIMMING ECT. AND MOST KIDS IN PRINCETON GO THEIR ON A DAILY BASIS.
I PERSONALLY THINK THE SCHOOL SYSTEM IS A BIT MESSED UP!!
THEY HAVE SO MANY SCHOOLS BUT THEY ARE ALL SEPERATED INTO A COUPLE GRADES FOR EACH BUILDING. AND THEY (THE CHILDREN) R MOSTLY BUSED AND TRANSFERING BUSES, ETC. ITS JUST ALL A BIT CONFUSING I THINK FOR KIDS THAT R IN PK - 5TH GRADES. YOU WOULD THINK THAT UR CHILD WOULD GO TO A SCHOOL THAT IS CLOSE TO HOME, BUT THATS NOT THE CASE, THEY R ALL BUSED ALL AROUND THE TOWN. AND KIDS IN 4 - 5 R BUSED ALL THE WAY TO A TOTALLY DIFFERENT TOWN @ 20 MINS AWAY...
GO FIGURRE....
MY DAUGHTER USED TO LOVE SCHOOL BUT NOW SHE HATES IT BECAUSE ITS SOOOOOOOOOOO FAR AWAY!!!!
WELL IF U WANT TO KNOW ANYTHING ELSE JUST EMAIL ME AT ONTHEGOTAXI@YAHOO.COM

My girlfriend lives in princeton. It is a very good place to live. there have only been 2 murders in the history of the town. It is very quiet, but at the same time they have a lot of things always going on. The people are very nice. They have there own newspaper which keeps school spirit and town interest very high, but also get the peoria journal star.

Its only 20 minutes away from LaSalle-Peru. 45 minutes north of peoria, hour plus away from bloomington-normal, and 1 1/2 hours from chicago. Its a really good location and a safe place to live.

I havent heard any problems about the schools and i know a lot of people who have graduated recently from the highschools. There is a jr. college Illinois Valley Central College 30 minutes away.

Smile Yes, you should!

I was born in Princeton and spent my first 14 yrs. there. My sister raised her kids there, my nephews did well there.

I am still a small town girl at heart. I love the peace, quiet, simpilicityof the town. The fall colors are just amazing. The people are very nice, many have lived there for generations.

I wish that my kids had the childhood today that I had living there...many great memories.

When I went to Florida in 1980 I walked in the highschool in Homestead, Florida with enough credits to graduate. I received a great education there. I miss all that.

If it wasnt for the winters, I would buy back our old house and live there again. We lived at 422 Elm Place.
The houses on that street are old and amazing.

Princeton was once known as "Elm City" for all the enmorus elms that lined the streets at one time. THey were eventually killed off by a dutch beetle that left them sick and withering.

I love the rich history in that town, the museum is filled with items that just take you back to slave days. I am still very proud to have been born there.

I live in S.E. Georgia now, in a small town that has some of the same qualities as Princeton. We are here because my husband is in the military and it puts me close to family.

I hope that you take a long look at the town, it is a great place. I dont know about work, but I am sure there is something there or close by.

A great place to grow up.
