Illinois Gas Prices
Where are you and what are the gas prices in your area? Might be interesting to keep a running tally.
As of 6:00 pm tonight, $4.09 in rural Woodford County.

I paid $4.27 for mid-grade tonight. It was the cheapest I could find in St. Charles after I got off of work. I believe Shell was asking $4.35 a gallon for V-Power. Unbelievable! When is this madness gonna stop??????

I do not think the madness will ever stop. Its bad all over the Nation and no end in sight. The prices rise daily. I myself think we will see $6 a gal by end of summer. The scary thing is how FAST it has gone up, that is what concerns me the most.

All signs point to this being a distinctly "investment" driven situation -- many LARGE postions are held AGAINST the US dollar and FOR higher prices, if the holders of these positions change their strategy prices will recede. My guess is that won't happen until/unless the something significantly alters the trajectory of both the underlying supply/demand ratio of petroleum and the global currency pricing of US dollars. Neither seems very likely.
Gas north of $5 seems a liklihood, $6, probably not, but it is all relative.

Good, and I believe accurate, article. All commodities are up right now, because they are a place to speculate and make money while the dollar is so weak. It most likely is not going to change anytime soon.

$4.15 last night in st. charles IL.
Personally my prediction is that within 5 years we will be paying what europe pays. And we all better start thinking of driving the subcompacts and cramming your entire family into one (like they do in europe). (unless of course, you need a truck for work/towing).
