Back in the 1960s and 1970s, there was a fantastic chicken restaurant near Sterling IL. I believe the name was the "White House" or something similar. Any recollections?

Nope. The Candlelight Inn started out in Downtown Sterling. The one that I am thinking of was on the outskirts of town.

The White House was just outside of Dixon Illinois on the west end of town. About 10 miles east of Sterling. Had some great chicken and salad bar. Sadly it and The Brown Shingle across the road are both gone. The White House for nearly 25 years now and The Brown Shingle closed just a few years later. Candlelight in Sterling is still open and has opened locations across the river in Rock Falls and on the Mississippi River in Clinton Iowa.
