Be careful if you buy a house in Roscoe or Machesney there are some shady builders there here is a picture of a house roof that is Brand new

You definitely want to chose Roscoe. It is a nice community close to I-90 access. The schools are much better and therefore your propery value will be better. Machensney is a bunch of big box stores.

I would recommend the 61107 zip to look in for a nice neighborhood. there are a lot of older homes with great character...if thats what you are looking for. I live in a beautiful older east side neighborhood full of both smaller and larger homes. If you are persistent, you can find a great buy in this area. The taxes are high thought. Roscoe, Rockton and the rest of the towns to the north have a lot of newer construction going on. But I would be a little hesitant on some of the builders like Havasu said before.
