When you hate an area so bad the best thing to do is leave. I lived in the Rockford area and I did business in Rockford. I was in bad areas all of the time and I never ever had anyone mug me nor did I get shot at. Im sure lots of people know my feeling towards the area so I wont go on and on about it. I left and do not miss the City of Rockford.I do miss Wisconsin and if I ever was to move back my choice would be the Lake Geneva area. Lake Geneva pictures. My get away was there and its not far from Rockford, you can spend an entire day there and do it pretty cheap. I suggest the ones who hate Rockford make a day of going somwhere nicer then Rockford even if its Galena for an afternoon. I use to go to the many many forest preserves for the day. I cant believe I am talking up the area.
We pretty much agree Rockford isnt the best place but there are alot of destinations around there to enjoy all you have to do it get out and enjoy them. Turn off the TV and get out the ATLAS map and make a nice trip out of it. I use to do it all of the time when I lived there. It helped me make the best of the area and I had fun doing it.

Good advice, probably suitable to living anywhere.
They also have these things called airplanes that will take you just about anyplace in the country in 3 hours or so. Rockford is 1hr from O'hare, fares are cheap and so are hotels. Hell, you can fly to Florida out of Rockford for under $100. Get out and see the world.

So long as your over 18 you have a choice. Why are you wasting your life living there Rocky? Why, why, why???? Why can't you summon the courage to leave? Why can't you break away? What are you afraid of?

Just for the record I do not live there anymore. I have moved to a warm weather climate
My quality of life has increased. However, I still can not believe a place like Rockford exists.

You're so full of ****.
One post you say you live there. Another you just moved there. Now you say you've left to a warmer climate. Sterling is a warmer climate? Because just 5 months ago you "claimed" you were moving there from Rockford. You're weird.

In one post you claim you're a 100K/yr professional, then further down the page in the posted link you're looking for a job that pays more than $10/hr.
Appartently you don't know where you live or who you are. I guess you don;t know that your past posts are archieved either.

You wouldn't know the truth if it punched you in the throat. For starters, Rockford has a higher violent crime rate than Cicero by far. For another, if anything, being white in Cicero actually makes you safer because the thugs are more interested in harassing each other than harassing random passers-by. If you're white and don't try to look or act hard, they'll assume you're not in a gang and leave you alone. I've been down Cicero Avenue numerous times and nobody has so much as scowled at me.
Please, stick to what you know -- whatever that is.

Cicero isn't actually that bad. It has a lower crime rate than people realize, and is safer than Oak Park. At least that's what the stats say, though I'm sure people in Oak Park are far more likely to call the police.
Rockford on the other hand...
