Can anyone recommend a good local place to eat? I prefer the dives that don't look like much but have great food. Thanks for the help.

Jungle Jim's on Peoria Rd, Charlie Parkers on North Street and for a great steak go to Gallaghers on S 6th street.

where can you get a horseshoe sandwich comparable to the ones they use to have at NorbAndy's -- with the thick, frothy cheese sauce (I believe it had beer in it) ... The last few places I've tried all have had either velveeta out of the box or a runny liquid cheese.

Darcy's Pint is the place to get a horseshoe. They are located on Stanford Ave., between 5th St. and MacArthur Blvd.

Best breakfast (besides Charlie Parker's): Ritz's Lil' Fryer - N. Grand between Albany & Water in Grandview.
